About What I Meant

What I Meant is a place for the messages you never sent. You write a note to someone, an ex, a parent, a friend, yourself, and it goes up on a wall of sticky notes for other people to read. No account, no real name, and it's free.

Every note gets posted

A lot of people find this site after using The Unsent Project and waiting for notes that never went up. Here, there is no queue. When you post a note, it's on the wall right away. The only things that come down are notes that break the basic rules below. Here's how the two compare.

What you can do here

Is it anonymous?

Yes. There are no accounts and no email. Your name is optional, and "Anonymous" is the default. Notes are saved without your IP address; only a scrambled code is kept, to stop spam and repeat reports.

One thing worth thinking about before you post: if you use a nickname or a detail only one person would know, they might recognize the note. Keep it as vague as you need it to be.

Rules and removals

Be kind. Notes that target or harass someone, share private information, or encourage self-harm aren't allowed. Anyone can report a note, and a note is hidden automatically once enough different people report it.

If you want a note removed and can't delete it yourself (for example, one you posted before deleting was possible), message @mohdmahmodi on X with the link to the note.

If you're going through something heavy, please talk to someone. findahelpline.com lists free helplines in many countries, and in the US you can call or text 988.

Who made this
